What to expect: Uncover new skills and gain a lifelong passion for the art of bushcraft! Experience some hands-on learning to light your own fire using a variety of materials, build a shelter to keep you warm and dry, and filter water through different resources. All this can be done in our bushcraft area in the White Hall woodland.

What to expect: Don’t miss out on the excitement of our indoor climbing wall! With the choice of bouldering or rope climbing with your group, we provide a session that is both challenge and fun. Get ready for a thrilling experience with plenty of climbing games to ramp up the excitement.

What to expect: Engage in the thrilling Crate Stack high ropes challenge where your team collaborates to construct a tower using milk crates. Two members will ascend the tower, secured with safety ropes, while another pair will diligently control the safety ropes. The remaining team members will unite their efforts to build the tower. The ultimate question: How high can you reach before the tower meets its tipping point? This dynamic activity serves as an excellent platform for fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and both mental and physical challenges within your group.

What to expect: Our indoor cave is a brilliant way to experience an underground adventure without leaving the site. Constructed with artificial tunnels, our cave allows participants to explore a variety of challenges, building independence and resilience. With both bigger and smaller areas to explore, this is the perfect environment for all to enjoy and can provide an introductory experience for those new to caving.

Educational Outcomes: Identify effects of air resistance and friction.
What to expect: We have two zip wires to cater for different ages and abilities. You will put on a harness, clip yourself in and climb up to the zip wire platform. Once you reach the top you will zip off through the woods to complete the challenge. Your teammates and instructor will ensure your safe return to the ground.

What to expect: Conquer the challenge of climbing our cargo net suspended between two trees in the White Hall woodland! As a team, you will work together with your instructor to keep the climbers safe on their ropes. Once you reach the top there is a bell to ring and you have defeated the challenge. With two people climbing at the same time, why not have a race to see who can reach the top first?

What to expect: To reach the leap of faith platform, climb a ladder into the treetops. Safely harnessed, take the leap for a ball suspended in the trees. The ball can be moved further away or closer to create a challenge by choice. Your instructor will gently lower you back to the ground once you’ve completed your leap.

Educational Outcomes: Develop flexibility, strength, balance, and self-esteem.
What to expect: We have three low ropes courses with different obstacles to suit teams at different levels. With the ropes not being too far from the ground, fear of hights is no issue here! Take on a team challenge and get your teammates around the course. Your instructor can add or take away challenges to suit your abilities. As you make your way around, take on the Tarzan swing, balance across ropes, and crawl through tunnels to succeed in the challenge.

What to expect: Weaving its way around the grounds we have our very own mountain bike track. It is made up of different sections and challenges to suit all riders, from beginners, to experienced bikers. For some groups we explore the beautiful Peak District off-site. We’ve got all the kit you need and will make sure you’re riding within your own ability.

What to expect: Here at White Hall, we have a selection of orienteering courses to choose from, from our ‘dinosaur course’ for little explorers to a large course set out around the Goyt valley for the more experienced. There is course to challenge everyone! Learn map reading skills and seek out all the orienteering markers.

What to expect: Discover the biodiversity of our wildlife pond on a pond dipping session. See what you can scoop out with a net and find what is hiding beneath the surface. With identification sheets and magnifying glasses, see if you can find out the names of the creatures you find. You’d be amazed how much is lurking in just one pond!
