Non-residential programmes in your school grounds and beyond
White Hall Centre can support your school to use outdoor and adventurous activities to develop or add to the PE and sport activities that your school already offers.
Using your sports premium for outdoor and adventurous activities can:
- Develop personal and interpersonal skills
- Create strong national curriculum links (particularly science, mathematics, communication and languages)
- Have a positive impact on pupil learning experiences and allow them to take part in new activities
- Give teaching staff the skills and confidence to use school grounds and beyond for adventurous activities

Feedback from a school we support through sport premium funding:
“Children have developed core skills such as balance, eye-hand co-ordination, strength and spatial awareness and to push themselves in terms of P.E. But more than just developing physical skills they have learned: the courage and self-belief to try new and different things that may have appeared scary or intimidating; the confidence to go a little further or a little higher or a little longer; the resilience and perseverance to keep trying when they aren’t succeeding straight away; the ability to work together, support and encourage others and motivate themselves and those around them. All of these skills are transferable and are having positive knock-on effects in and out of the classroom.” Headteacher of Earl Sterndale Primary School
